UPDATE: Caperton Trail closed, detour available

Due to construction, the Caperton Trail, near the Morgantown Utility Board’s Star City Waste Water Treatment Plant, is closed today, Jan. 5, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will also be closed tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 6, from 8 a.m. to 3. p.m.

A detour route is available.

Caperton Trail closed, detour available

Due to construction, the Caperton Trail, near the Morgantown Utility Board’s Star City Waste Water Treatment Plant, was closed at 11 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 4 and will remain closed until 3 p.m. The area will be closed Thursday, Jan. 5, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A detour route is available.

Caperton Trail work begins Wednesday, Jan. 4

The Morgantown Utility Board (MUB) is scheduled to begin remediation/stabilization of a land slide affecting a MUB Interceptor Sewer Pipeline near Sixth Street in Morgantown.

This work will be adjacent to the Caperton Trail and will require possible closures and/or temporary detours of the trail to ensure public safety.

Please plan appropriately by using another route and/or allowing extra time for possible delays. All Trail users are advised to use caution while passing though the work zone and adhere to all safety control measures in place within the work zone. The work is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Jan. 4.
